Although Moscow and Beijing have said that they will continue to advocate for a diplomatic and non-violent solution to the "Iran crisis" and maintain their multifaceted relations with Tehran, it is undeniable that the final resolution, a significantly diluted version of the original draft resolution drafted by the trio of Britain, France and Germany, was a tactical victory for the United States, Israel and their proxies, and provided a limited and ostensible appearance of legitimacy to their war preparations against Iran.
Indeed, US (and Israeli) officials are already saying that these sanctions are insufficient and are calling for other countries to impose more comprehensive sanctions against Iran.
In this respect, if not the EU countries that mediated the decision in question, it would not be wrong to characterize the attitudes of the cowardly and reactionary Russian and Chinese monopoly bourgeoisies, who do not show sufficient opposition to the US-Israel-British axis, as "appeasement".
As it will be remembered, before the Second World War, Britain and France encouraged them to fight the Soviet Union with their "appeasement" policy to Hitler's Germany and their partners, which were the main aggressor force of the time, and thus aimed to exhaust and finish both sides.
Even today, the policy of Russia and China against the imperialist-Zionist warlords in Washington, London and Telaviv, which are the main aggressive powers, reminds us of this "appeasement" policy, that is, exhausting them by encouraging them to go to war against Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Palestine, as well as Iran and Syria.
However, considering that the USA's downfall of the Iranian fortress and somehow succeeding in taking this important front under its own control will greatly weaken the strategic position of Russia and China, it can be said that this calculation may well backfire and it can and should be said that this curtain of the "new great game" will be closed in favor of Washington.
Of course, the "appeasement" policies of managers and strategists in Moscow and Beijing, who can never be said to have not taken this aspect of the business into account, that the "appeasement" policy have certain limits and it should also be noted that over time, they may further scale up the military and political support they are currently giving to Iran. *
As expected, Iran rejected this decision and announced that rather than stopping it, she would continue its nuclear activities, which it claimed to be carrying out for peaceful purposes, at a higher pace. Describing the resolution as a "torn piece of paper", Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made the following correct assessment for the UN "Security" Council, which he said was a "puppet show":
“Now the UN Security Council, as a servant of the USA, Britain and the Zionist regime has no credibility.”
International Law?
Indeed, since the second half of the 1950s, the UN "Security" Council, and hence the UN, has become a vulgar scene of counter-revolutionary maneuvers and bargains by the leading imperialist states.
Since the collapse of the revisionist Soviet empire, it has become an institution that more or less approves the offensive and terrorist policies of US imperialism and has completely lost its credibility.
Especially since 11 September 2001, the last decision of the UN "Security" Council regarding Iran, proved once again that the American neo-fascists abandoned even the effort to cover their imperialist intervention and aggression with a cover of legitimacy and completely disregarded the existing bourgeois international law and the UN Convention.
The attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq, the calls for the overthrow of the regimes in countries such as Syria, Iran, North Korea, the guided organizations created, the terrorist activities carried out, and even the regime change laws are the first examples that come to mind. An example of this in recent months was during Israel's 33-day war against Lebanon.
**
As it is known, controlling or overthrowing Iran has been on the agenda of the axis of evil for years. In fact, the Bush clique had planned to carry out the attack on Iran towards the middle of 2006. This attack: It would begin with days of bombardment by US, British and Israeli warplanes, supplemented by ground attacks from Iraq and Afghanistan and naval attacks from the Persian Gulf. However, the resistance of the peoples of Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan, as well as Iran's demonstrations of advanced weapons and equipment by the land, air and naval forces, forced the US and its partners to postpone their plans.
After Iran conducted war exercises alone in April 2006 and in coordination with Russia and China in August 2006, the aggressors began to reconsider their war plans, isolate Iran as much as possible, neutralize Russia and China and they turned to find new accomplices in the characters of the Western European imperialists and the Turkish and Arab reactionary regimes.
**
It is not known whether all these preparations will result in an air-sea attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, and whether a ground operation, albeit a narrow one, will follow. However, it is also true that time is working against the declining US imperialism and its allies.
Under these circumstances, stopping Iran's constantly advancing nuclear work before it's too late, cutting Tehran's material and political support to the anti-US forces in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and – perhaps – Afghanistan, ensuring Israel's “security” and most importantly, regressing the Russia-China axis by seizing the huge natural gas and oil resources in Iran remains a priority and urgent target of the axis of evil.
It is clear that no one can predict in detail the consequences of such an attack, which will mainly aim to destroy thousands of Iranian nuclear and military targets dispersed throughout the country by intense aerial bombardment. However, with Iranian military retaliation following such an attack, which, if carried out, is certain to cause the death and injury of hundreds of thousands of civilians, the ongoing war could spread over a wide region from Lebanon to Afghanistan and even beyond; in the process, we can say that it can also draw Russia and China in the conflict.
Of course, such a war would in any case put Israel in a more or more difficult position, let alone reinforce its security, and that such a war would be the beginning of the end for both the Zionist state and the American super state.
While it is doomed to be defeated and collapse in the face of the resistance of the working class and oppressed peoples, stopping the imperialist-Zionist aggressors and making efforts to at least to reduce the terrible destruction they have done and will do, is the most urgent and burning task of progressive humanity.
In this respect, the working class and peoples of Turkey, Kurdistan, the Middle East and the USA, as well as the peoples of Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Lebanon and the like, which are resisting at great cost, are actually fighting not only for the liberation of their own countries, but they must also clearly understand that every battle they won against the imperialist and Zionist aggressors, against the capitalist-imperialist system, also means a blow to the domestic reactionary ruling classes in all countries.
In this respect, all consistent revolutionary and internationalist forces are obliged to stand unconditionally against the US-Israel-British neo-fascist bloc, supported by the EU imperialists, to drag the Middle East and the world into a new imperialist war in which nuclear weapons can also be used.
But their task cannot be limited to this; their duties include preventing “their” governments and armies from supporting the imperialist terror of the axis of evil and attempting to mobilize the broad masses of workers and laborers in solidarity with the working class and its peoples. And, if it happens, it is among the duties to evaluate the political possibilities of such a war and the crisis that will accompany it, in order to overthrow their own reactionary governments.
Notes
* It can be said that the appeasement policy pursued by imperialist states such as Russia and China, not by Germany and France who tied their fates to the collapsing super-state despite their disagreements with the USA, bears some resemblance to the policies followed by Britain and France in the 1930s.
The US imperialists are engaged in an endless war in Afghanistan and Iraq that is tiring and consuming them economically, politically, and militarily, it facilitates Moscow and Beijing's efforts to expand their influence elsewhere in the world.
Washington's real quagmire in Afghanistan and Iraq; It allows Russia to recapture former spheres of influence in the Caucasus and Central Asia and to open up to the Middle East, and for China to consolidate its positions in Southeast Asia and acquire new spheres of influence in Africa and Latin America.
Therefore, the assertion that Moscow and Beijing's less than expected resistance to the aggressive policies of the USA towards Iran- what lies under it, is their imperialist plans, cannot be underestimated.
